Privacy policy.

1. Who is the data controller

The responsible party for your personal data is LCSI Pty Ltd, a private company registered in the Republic of South Africa, trading as Proven Path Academy ("PPA"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@proven-path-academy.com.

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to run a training business. Typically:

• Booking data: name, email address, the course you booked, the seat number and date. Collected via Paystack at checkout.
• Payment data: handled directly by Paystack — we do not store your card number or CVV. We receive a transaction reference and amount only.
• Tax-invoice data (if requested): your company name, VAT number, billing address.
• In-session data: attendance, knowledge-check score, certificate issuance.
• Communication data: emails you send us, any feedback or testimonial you choose to share.
• Website data: minimal — we do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. The site uses a single technical cookie for the "year auto-update" feature, which is not a tracker.

3. Why we use it (lawful basis)

• To deliver the course you booked — sending you the Confirmation Pack, contacting you about logistics or schedule changes (contract performance).
• To issue your certificate and keep training records as required by South African tax and POPIA retention rules (legal obligation, legitimate interest).
• To send you a single post-course follow-up email and, if you opt in, a low-frequency newsletter (consent).
• To process card payments via Paystack and account for the transaction (contract / legal obligation).

4. Who we share data with

We share the minimum data necessary with carefully chosen processors:

• Paystack — processes your card payment.
• Our email provider (e.g. Google Workspace) — for the emails we send you.
• Our accountant — under a confidentiality agreement, for tax and audit purposes.

We do not sell your personal data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to any third party for marketing purposes.

5. Retention

We retain booking and attendance records for 5 years (the standard SARS recordkeeping window for tax-relevant data). Email subscribers may unsubscribe at any time, after which we retain only the unsubscribe record (to honour your choice).

6. Your POPIA rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct any inaccurate data.
• Object to processing for direct marketing.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to our retention obligations under tax law).
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@proven-path-academy.com. We respond within 30 calendar days.

7. Security

Personal data is held in services protected by enterprise-grade encryption (at rest and in transit) operated by reputable providers. We minimise the amount of personal data we hold and review access regularly. In the unlikely event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA.

8. International transfers

Some of our processors (e.g. Google Workspace, Paystack's underlying infrastructure) may store data outside South Africa. They have committed to adequacy frameworks that align with POPIA's cross-border transfer requirements.

9. Cookies and tracking

The PPA website uses no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. A single technical cookie may be set by your browser for session/preferences. The Paystack checkout uses its own cookies under its own privacy policy — please review it at paystack.com/privacy.

10. Intellectual property notice

All content, training materials, slide decks, exercise packs, certificate templates, reference cards, brochures, website copy, branding (logos, colours, names), the running case (Karoo Logistics), the data files used in exercises, and any other materials produced by PPA are © LCSI Pty Ltd and are licensed by LCSI Pty Ltd to Proven Path Academy for use in its courses and communications.

"Proven Path Academy" and "PPA" are trading names of LCSI Pty Ltd. The names "AI at Work", "AI at Scale" and "AI at the Top" and their respective course codes (PPA-AIW-001, PPA-AIS-001, PPA-AIT-001) are owned by LCSI Pty Ltd.

Course delegates are licensed to use their copy of the course materials for personal, internal-business use only and may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or train a competing programme from them. See clause 7 of the Terms & Conditions for details.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect on the date of your booking applies to the personal data collected for that booking. Material changes will be notified via email to active subscribers and booked delegates.
